Roping Reins

We offer three different types of roping reins.
All are hand-made of Hermann Oak harness leather
with the exception of the PR5, which has a latigo middle.

RR1 Rolled Roping Reins

This is a round roping rein with a through-hole adjustment on one end and a trigger snap at other. Approximately 8'.

RR2 Flat Roping Reins

A 5/8'' flat rein with a through-hole adjustment and trigger snap. 7½ - 8'.

PR5 Plaited Roping Reins

A 5-plait braided latigo middle with harness leather ends. Through-hole adjustment and trigger snap. Approximately 8'.

Draw Reins

Our Draw Reins are a bit different from others
that most people have been accustomed to.
Ours are designed strictly for lateral movement, not for pulling the head down. The round part of the rein is 44'' long with a 20'' flat piece at each attaching end, making a built-in stop to prevent pulling the horse's head any further. Also available are full-circle draw reins and pulleys.

Rein Accessories

RM1 - Running Martingale

Our Running Martingale is made from heavy single-ply harness leather for that soft feel. We use 1¼'' rings for the rein ends and &190;'' English roller buckles for easy adjustment. We have been told by several knowledgeable horsemen that this is the best they have used.

TF1 - Training Fork

We brought this item back in our product line due to the number of requests received! Our short training fork measures 1'' x 29''. We use 1¼'' rings on the ends with a 1'' swedge buckle for easy adjustment. Hand-cut and edged from heavy single-ply harness leather.

BC12 - Straight-Cut Breast Collar

This 1½'' straight-cut collar is a favorite of horse trainers. It keeps the saddle in place while riding a bit lower on the shoulder in case the horse is sensitive in the slope area. 100% Hermann Oak harness leather lined with latigo.

BC22 - Contour Breast Collar

This 1¾'' contour is made for the recreational rider or the horse trainer. However, if you really can handle cattle well, we have roped using this collar. With its contour design and ¾'' tugs, this collar sits higher on the horse's shoulder. Handmade by Cowhorse Equipment.

BC42 - Roper Collar

This heavy-duty contoured roping collar is made to do the big jobs. With doubled and stitched harness leather-on-harness leather design and 1'' tugs, this has become a favorite among team-ropers.
